Gardasil c is a vaccine indicated for the prevention of cervical, vulvar, vaginal and anal caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) Types 16 and 18; and genital warts caused by HPV Types 6 and 11.

 

What is the recommended dosing schedule for Gardasil vaccination?

For girls between 9-14 years of age:

Two doses should be given at an interval of 6 months.

For women  between 15-45 years of age:

Three doses should be given at an interval of 0,2 and 6 months.

Gardasil is administered as an intramuscular injection in the deltoid region of the arm or anterolateral region of the thigh by a trained healthcare professional. Do not self-inject the vaccine.

Gardasil is generally well tolerated. General side-effects include mild pain and redness at injection site which is transient and self resolves within a few days. Serious side effects are very rare.
